Kathmandu and Chitwan National Park “Jungle Ice-land” February 2003

Beautiful sunset over river surrounding Jungle Island, which the locals pronounce “ice land.” This tourist camp provides elephant rides and beautiful scenery. The elephants seemed to be treated well, but tenders did carry the hooks. I was greatly concerned that one of the tenders would use the hook on the elephant, and “The World’s Most Dangerous Blonde” would use the hook on the tender!

Happy Elephants. Jim and the Blonde get seriously hosed. Note the smile on the elephant’s face. When elephant lay down, you go in river.  Jim was quite startled when, in the river, his foot was grabbed by…the elephant’s trunk!  Funny elephant scare tourist.

Try riding behind this bad boy on a winding mountain road!
